Welcome to Primary 1!

Primary 1 have been having lots of fun since they started school in August.
We have been learning to count forwards and backwards. We use the smartboard and our ipads to help us with our counting.

We can now say lots of sounds and have been practising making our letters. We make our letters with playdough and sand but our favourite thing is making them with foam!

We all brought our teddies in to visit our new classroom. They had a great day! We hope you like the pictures of our teddies. They are all different and they are all special, just like us!

Primary One Projects

Primary 1 have been very busy with taking photos of themselves and have decorated their door with the photos.  They also put there name beside each person.

They have been doing some pasta art, in maths, and they have been trying to spot the number patterns. They really enjoyed doing this and I wonder if you can spot the patterns?          

The primary 1's have done some very cool hand prints to make there door very pretty. To go with that they have hung some little birds. We think primary one really enjoy and are very good at art!!!!!
                           

Within there topic, primary 1 have done a 3D picture of a town. They all love it and its very realistic!!

Our Assembly

The children in P1 really enjoyed performing our assembly about "World Water Day" last Friday.  Lots of the children were brave and offered to do speaking parts - well done! Everyone had at least a few words to say.  We talked about World Water Day and Article 24 of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. The children made beautiful paintings and pictures of the ways we use water and showed the parents.  Next we had a play about the differences between water use in Scotland and Tanzania.  Mollie read a lovely prayer and then we sang the song we wrote - see below for both.  Well done P1!

Some children are getting confused with b, d and p.  This game is really helpful, but please turn off the sound as it uses the letter names rather than sounds - I don't want the children to get confused!
