Educational websites

A little late but as promised, here are a list of educational websites which might help your child with their learning at home.

Maths

I really like this website for maths games:

At the moment in P1, anything which practising ordering numbers correctly, counting or matching digits to a number of spots is useful.  Here are a few of our favourites:

This is also good for practising ordering the numbers, and you can cover up numbers so the children can work out what is missing.

Language

This is nice for pairing sounds and words:

Some children are getting confused with b, d and p.  This game is really helpful, but please turn off the sound as it uses the letter names rather than sounds - I don't want the children to get confused!

Looking at sounds at the ends of words, this game is fun (we haven't done all of the sounds yet though will do in a few weeks' time!):

This helps to focus on the simple words we've been making in school:

For the songs we use in class to practise our sounds, look up youtube for Jolly Phonics songs.

I'll put up some more soon :)

Primary One 2014-15

Welcome to this year's Primary One page!  On this page you will see what we are learning in P1.  We will upload some of our work, share our targets and you can learn all about life in our P1 class!  Miss Campbell will also post relevant websites and letters so that Mums and Dads can help you to learn at home!

Maisie's Diary - part 1

Last night Miss Campbell took me home.

She gave me a wash.  I was a bit dirty!

Then she made me a top.  She used the sewing machine.

Then she dried me with a hair dryer!

I can’t wait to visit you!
