Our second outdoor learning afternoon

Primary One had a second outdoor learning afternoon before the October holidays!  Have a look at some of the things we've been doing...

We have been learning about animals who hibernate in the autumn.  We learnt the "Harry the Hedgehog" song.  Mrs Macdonald drew a big Harry outside and we covered him with leaves and twigs!

Drawing hedgehogs on the ground.

Amelia's lovely lovehearts.

Practising our cvc words and forming x and z.

Filling a snail with grass and stones.

Emma practised writing her name.

Katie practised writing her name.

Liam practised writing his name.

We hope to have another outdoor day soon!

Look what we can do!

The boys and girls in Primary One have been very busy learning their sounds.  By the end of the week, we will know a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,r,s,t,u and v!

The boys and girls have been using these magnetic boards to practise their sounds and make three letter words (sometimes called CVC words - consonant, vowel, consonant words - e.g. cat, leg, dip, mop, mum).

Last week we made some fishy f pictures.  We practised writing f and had to remember the tail of the f.  Do you like our pictures?
